Welcome to fall? Make that Metrological fall and the start of some very summer like weather

HARRISONBURG VA: (Rocktown Now) – Fall is still 22 days away with the autumnal equinox September 22nd. But for metrologists, fall officially begins today. It’s defined by the annual temperature cycles and the calendar, not the position of the sun. Metrological fall runs from September 1st through November 30th. That said, it’s certainly not going to feel like fall until next week. Starting today temperatures will climb to the 90’s and the heat indices near 100.
