RICHMOND VA: (Rocktown Now) – The Virginia State Police reported seizing approximately 33 pounds of illegal narcotics during the past week, preventing an estimated $214,000 in drug-related revenue, according to a recent agency news release.

Authorities said the recovered narcotics included more than 32 pounds of marijuana, nearly 10 ounces of cocaine, and four ounces of fentanyl.

In addition to the drug seizures, state police recovered three firearms with an estimated value of $1,500.

Virginia State Police spokesman Matt Demlein said troopers remain committed to protecting communities across the Commonwealth through proactive enforcement efforts.

“State Police remain steadfast in their mission to enhance public safety and uphold the laws throughout the Commonwealth,” Demlein said.

The agency releases weekly crime statistics as part of its ongoing efforts to highlight enforcement activities and the impact of its public safety initiatives across Virginia.
