North Liberty Street Reopens Following Friday Evening House Fire in Harrisonburg


HARRISONBURG VA: (Rocktown Now) North Liberty Street was closed for several hours Friday evening as firefighters responded to a house fire at 245 North Liberty Street.

No one was home when the fire broke out. Firefighters were forced to enter the residence to gain access to the blaze. The fire was located on the second floor of the two-story structure as well as the attic.

Emergency crews were on the scene for just under three hours, resulting in the temporary closure of North Liberty Street while firefighters and other first responders remained on the scene.

No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

The roadway was reopened later in the evening after crews completed their work and the scene was declared safe.
