NEW ORLEANS (JMU Athletics) – Three James Madison student-athletes were recognized on the 2025-26 Sun Belt All-Conference women’s tennis team in senior Daria Munteanu, freshman Brooklyn Hoffmann and senior Sophie Williams.

Munteanu was selected to the All-Sun Belt Second Team in singles, while the tandem of Hoffmann and Williams were voted First Team All-Sun Belt in doubles.

This is the third career All-Sun Belt honor for Munteanu, who was Second Team singles in 2024 and First Team doubles in 2023, while both Hoffmann and Williams secure postseason accolades for the first time.

Munteanu led the Dukes in total singles wins on the year, going 17-15, which included a 9-11 mark while being the only JMU player to compete on court one during the spring after an 8-4 tournament record during the fall. She’s been primarily the top singles player in the lineup for three years running. Munteanu capped off her career ranking the top eight in each of the program’s win categories, finishing sixth in doubles wins (65), seventh in total wins (135) and tied for eighth in singles wins (70).

The team of Hoffmann and Williams turned in a 13-6 doubles record during the spring and went 15-7 overall this year after competing together in a single fall tournament. They played each match on court one during the dual-match spring and ranked as high as #89 in the ITA national doubles rankings in March. The two led the Sun Belt with a JMU single-season record five Doubles Team of the Week honors. The tandem’s spring was highlighted by No. 1 doubles wins over Old Dominion, Kentucky, Duke, Virginia Tech, VCU and FIU.

JMU finished the 2025-26 season with a 12-11 record and went 1-1 at the Sun Belt Women’s Tennis Championship.
