HARRISONBURG, Va. (EMU Athletics) – The EMU Women’s Soccer team wrapped up the weekend with a Sunday matinee, welcoming in the Tornados of Brevard College.

Brevard held a 1-0 lead at the half, but used three second-half goals to pick up a 4-0 win.

Highlights
• The Royals got the first shot of the game, as Addison Fornadel picked up a shot in the eighth minute, but it was blocked by a Tornado defender. Katie Parks had her first two saves in the ninth and 15th minutes, keeping Brevard scoreless.
• EMU’s best chance came in the 34th minute when Bridget Hay struck a good ball, but it was a great save by the Tornado keeper. On the subsequent possession for Brevard, Mikayla Zvekan took a pass from Brennan Howell and put a shot on goal. It was initially deflected, but the deflection ended up behind parks and bounced into the net for a 1-0 Tornado lead. Parks snagged one more save as BC took their 1-0 lead into the break.
• Brevard wasted no time adding to their lead in the second half, picking up goals number two and three in the 50th and 54th minutes, respectively. EMU was able to pick up one more shot on goal, this time by Hannah Kepler in the 86th minute, but it was saved to keep the Tornados shutout intact.
