WINCHESTER, Va. (EMU Athletics) – It’s not over until it’s over.

At first, the EMU Men’s Soccer Royals appeared to be heading for their second ODAC loss in a row at Shenandoah on Wednesday night.

That is until literally the last second of the match when two senior leaders connected for the game-tying score. Logan Darrow headed in a midfield kick from goalkeeper Andrew Arledge to send the EMU bench and fans into a frenzy and salvage a 2-2 draw with the Hornets.

Records: EMU 5-2-4, 0-1-1 ODAC | Shenandoah 4-3-3, 1-0-1 ODAC

Highlights
• 6′ | Shenandoah quickly struck first on a solo effort by James Blalock.
• 15′ | Less than 10 minutes of game time later, the Royals buckled down and found an answer to even the score. Elijah Byrd sent a free kick across the field, which Hamidullah Tokhi struck with his right foot to the center of the box. Iverson Garcia then headed the ball into the net for his first career college goal, evening the score at 1-1 in the early moments.
• 30′ | The tie was short-lived, however, as a Paris Pappas goal pushed the homestandings Hornets back out front 2-1 at the half.
• 90′ | After a Royals cross into the box got jostled around and sent out to midfield, Arledge rallied to the ball and booted it about 45 yards back into the box. Darrow then leapt up and used his head to put it in the vacant net with Shenandoah’s keeper out of position.
