EMU Men’s Soccer comes up short at home against Gettysburg, 2-1

HARRISONBURG, Va. (EMU Athletics) – On a warm and humid Sunday afternoon in the Shenandoah Valley, the EMU Men’s Soccer team played their second home in as many days, doing battle with Gettysburg College at the EMU Turf Field. While the Royals got in the first goal, it was the visiting Bullets who ultimately won the match, 2-1.

Highlights
• 16′ | EMU lit up the scoreboard first off of a beautiful sequence. Hamid Tokhi got in the way of a Gettysburg clear attempt and then booted a nice through pass to Kane Kiernan, who quickly deposited the ball into the net to put the Royals up 1-0.
• 39′ | Gettysburg was able to find the equalizer before halftime on a goal by Liam Pitts, making the score 1-1 at the break.
• 50′ | Sergio Neto scored from the top of the box to make it a 2-1 game in favor of the Bullets. That goal turned out the be the game winner as the Royals could not counter before the final whistle blew.
