Clover Hill defeats Bridgewater in Game 7 to win RCBL Championship

The Clover Hill Bucks captured their second consecutive Rockingham County Baseball League Championship Sunday night with a 6-1 victory over Bridgewater in game seven of the RCBL Championship Series.

It’s the 20th title in franchise history for Clover Hill and the Reds finish as the RCBL runner-up for the third straight season after winning the championship in 2022.

The Bucks scored early and often in the final game of the series as they scored at least one run in five of the first six innings to build a 6-0 lead. Clover Hill pounded out 14 hits in the game, while Bridgewater only managed four hits and their only run came in the ninth inning.

Jose Rocha led the Bucks with two hits and two RBI, while Isaac Sumpter, Christian Harris and Luke Shiflett added two hits and one RBI each.

Reid Long started and threw four scoreless innings and then he turned the game over to Tanner Moyers. Moyers went the last five innings and allowed just one run on three hits. He struck out four and walked just one batter.
