Bridgewater’s Corcoran named ODAC Women’s Basketball Player of the Week

FOREST, Va. (BC Athletics) – Riley Corcoran of the Bridgewater College women’s basketball team has been named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference’s Offensive Player of the Week.

Corcoran led BC to a 2-0 start in ODAC play with a pair of wins over the past seven days. The senior from Chapel Hill, N.C., opened the week with 17 points in a scrappy 54-42 win over Randolph and backed it up on Saturday with a career-high 30 points in BC’s overtime win at Averett.

Her week was highlighted by the first 30-point game by an Eagle since Ahlia Moore dropped 30 on Lynchburg in 2021. Corcoran also tossed in seven assists on the week and was an efficient 44.8% from the floor and 81.8% at the charity stripe in BC’s victories heading into the exam break. She leads BC and ranks second in the ODAC with 19.8 points per game. Corcoran’s 158 total points on the season and 57 makes from the field lead the ODAC.

Bridgewater currently holds a 7-1 overall record heading into the exam break. The Eagles are 2-0 in ODAC play and have received votes in every D3hoops.com Top 25 poll to open the season.
