BRIDGEWATER, Va. (BC Athletics) – The Bridgewater College men’s soccer team kicked off the 2026 season with an impressive 7-0 victory over Mary Baldwin Tuesday afternoon.

How it Happened
• The Eagles wasted no time finding the net. In the sixth minute, Trey Widrick scored with an assist from Matthew Brand-Jimenez, giving BC an early 1-0 lead. Continuing its offensive onslaught, Bridgewater netted two more goals in the eighth minute. Riley Queen extended the Eagles’ lead, assisted by Anthony Medrano, before Widrick added his second goal just moments later, assisted by Queen.
• Queen then finished off the initial scoring spree in the 14th minute, netting his second goal of the match off an assist from Widrick, bringing the score to 4-0. Mary Baldwin faced a setback with a team red card in the 40th minute as the Eagles took a four-goal advantage into halftime.
• Just 52 seconds into the second half, Bridgewater struck again as Queen flicked a ball across the box and Joshua Parker left no doubt as he deflected the pass in for the score. The Eagles maintained control before Esteban Guarin’s unassisted goal in the 82nd minute made it 6-0.
• Lucio Bianchi rounded out the scoring in the 84th minute, finding the net with an assist from Manny Castro to polish off the Eagles’ season opener.

Match Notes
• Queen led the Eagles offensively with two goals and two assists, totaling six points. Widrick also contributed significantly, finishing with two goals and an assist for five points.
• Morris tallied MBU’s lone shot on goal early in the second half of play.
• Bridgewater outshot Mary Baldwin 23-3 and dominated in shots on goal with a 15-1 advantage. The Eagles scored four goals in the first 14 minutes of play.

What’s Next?
The Eagles will return to the Bridgewater Soccer Complex on Wednesday, Sept. 2 at 4 p.m. to take on Wilson.
